RYTF Annual Community Garden & Urban Farm Dinner
Tickets are on sale using the link below.
After the destruction and lasting economic impact of Superstorm Sandy, RYTF’s youth build one of the largest youth-run community gardens in New York City. RYTF’s thriving Food Justice project provides access to fresh, local produce each weekend through the Rockaway Youth Task Force Urban Farm & Community Garden and Farm Stand, which runs 20 weeks out of the year between July and November. RYTF’s Urban Farm serves a dual purpose, providing fresh food and information on healthy eating to the entire community while offering management and customer service experience to its youth employees and volunteers. The Food Justice project serves RYTF’s larger goal of creating a productive, engaged youth presence in the Rockaway community through civic engagement and professional development.Your support is essential to help us sustain our critical work.
All proceeds of this event will go towards the improvement of the RYTF Urban Farm & Community Garden.
The Rockaway Youth Resource Guide was written to assist young people, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and everyone else in between looking to access services on the Rockaway Peninsula. If you have suggestions on ways to improve the guide, please share them with us!
